Empire of Evil

¹4(10) (24.03.2006)

In America, people seem young and healthy, they are constantly eating and smiling; the lights are on at night; and hundreds of TV and radio channels work twenty-four hours a day. Americans are as perfect as gods thanks to sports, aerobics, medicine and plastic surgery that allows them to reconstruct their appearance. To Americans, appearance is an asset: a proof of personal success.

However, a question arises: what price do they pay for such success? How stable is their well-being?

Behind the mask of well-being, democracy, ecology, healthy lifestyle, Puritanism and conflict-free communication they are hiding reactive forms of evil. There is a distinct lack of love and compassion in American society. Self-sufficient and self-satisfied Americans show unexpected cruelty or even a bent for murder. There are faults in the richest economy in the world, in the most perfect equipment or computer networks — remember the electricity system failure, when several states including New York were in complete darkness — whose consequences turn out to be much more significant than natural disasters. Although the recent hurricane Katrina also seemed to have thrown a whole state back into medieval times, paralyzing both local and federal authorities.

But in fact America is threatened by artificially cultivated desires, as well as natural phenomena. Americans used to have the same natural needs as everyone else (I mean, from the times of colonization to the start of the post-war period), and in the course of meeting their needs they faced obstacles, either there was a shortage of goods or a simple ban. Today, the ever-growing needs of consumers are not suppressed; in fact the opposite is true, they are stimulated in every way with all the system and logic of the American economy, whose symbol has become its most desirable brand – The Great American Dream. However, it is paradoxical that, since there are no bans and everything is possible, the average American does not have any aspirations. There is no conflict between “I want” and “I can”. Thus, the natural fear disappears. Undoubtedly, the living standard in America has risen to such a level that the difference between the rich and the poor has become significantly smaller. But the main “achievement” of the American society is that the people have started to value their well-being so highly that they are ready to pay any price, including their freedom. Democracy and order in America today are supported by a sophisticated system of ideological and consumer values, rather than by threats and punishments. Marketing, an applied business discipline, is penetrating all spheres of American life and becoming one of the main instruments of socio-cultural manipulation.

Dostoyevsky, in his famous “Legend of the Great Inquisitor”, foretold the coming of the Antichrist’s reign, which in essence exists in today’s America. It is defined by the absence of spirituality, but the presence of consumania, conformism and mass culture. In the Antichrist’s kingdom the majority of citizens (the silent majority) feel comfortable. However, this is not so safe. The living standard in America has surpassed the border of the heavenly minimum and now they are supposed to pay more attention to culture. But in fact, they don’t have enough time and strength to refuse the consumania and in this consumer race the world has turned into a virtual reality for them. This leads to serious consequences, such as war. The modern American generation lives without the reality of wars, and the fear of the war is transferred from Earth into space or films in the cinema (for example, Star Wars). A world war is virtual reality, it is just pictures shown on CNN or in Hollywood blockbusters…

Americans, who live in a sterile environment, have lost their ability to resist threats or diseases, or to experience a sense of responsibility. They have lost their feeling of guilt – they are looking for causes of any evil or disorder outside. They need images of an enemy, and the authorities supply them with those images regularly via mass media: Bin Laden, Iraq, terrorists. However paradoxical it may sound, while fighting the far-fetched evil, America itself has turned into a real Empire of Evil…

You REALLY need to know this:

You should be thankful for Russian skeptism of rulers, politics and media. We in the west refuse to learn.

Dear XXXX;

In case you don’t already know, civilization is on the verge of being lost. I am not even sure if total social/economic collapse and world war will be a sufficient wake-up call.

Understand your enemies, their goals and methodology. No rational argument will work with those blinded by their assumed moral superiority. The good news is that their path ALWAYS collapses civilization and, one day rational man will be in post-collapse control and organize in a manner that can be neither broken nor corrupted by the passage of time and eroding complicity. Here’s my response to others:

Professor’s Havers and Gottfried;

With all due respect, I concede the point that you both understand the trees to the point of being able to differentiate and speculate on the motives of various mosses from your own perspectives (assumptions, experience, interpretations), but appear ignorant of the forest and the much larger and richer picture. You are after a holy grail which cannot exist, namely truth without proven context. You speculate on what dead people “really” meant, with no possibility of resolution, using language with imprecise meaning that is interpreted by the biases and preconceptions of all who consider it. Those you are really trying to convince (power holders) truly don’t give a damm about truth. They only seek rationalizations to maintain and increase their power. It appears to be the job of your “profession” to provide it, since philosophy has no other paying customers, except for rare “seekers of truth” who are skeptics by nature. The real questions are: what can be unambiguously proven? What “truth” is timeless? What is true independent of environment? Only then can viable paths be chosen.

In the grand scheme of things, you are arguing which school of thought should be considered “expert” and thus become “truth” and a rationalization for imposing political/economic structures (social organization) on those who may disagree or, just don’t care because your truth has no pertinence in their environment. This is a waste of time and ink. Truth in the area of mankind is a moving target, dictated by changing environment. Here are the attributes of the “new” environment:

· “Experts”, because of centuries of allowing charlatans and political manipulators to trade on the credibility “real quest for truth” of various professions to sell lies, have zero credibility; despite however few true “truth seekers” may be left. The public, even those few who attempt to seek truth themselves are hopelessly confused and have given up on “experts” and are having to rely on their own knowledge and experience.

· All of our political/economic structures are being flattened (from command and control hierarchies) because information tools (internet…) are destroying the ability for any to hold a monopoly on the knowledge required to hold and maintain power based on position in an artificially created hierarchy.

· We have been polarized into mutually antagonistic groups and have been deprived of the social knowledge and law required for co-operation, such as “agree to disagree”.

· No consensus of “truth” allowing imposition on ALL has been, is or ever will be possible. We ALL live in diverse environments, with different “balances of significant forces”, experiences and opinions forming the “truth” of our environments.

· The best we can all agree on is “Life is Good and Death is Bad” and the implications therof. Our civilization and law was once based on this consensus.

On another matter, here’s my analysis of what the corruption of the philosophy, legal, history, psychological. anthropology “professions” has wrought. For the “truth seekers” among you, the basic mistake is to think matters are more complex than they really are. For the corrupt, “fake” value can be achieved by making matters appear complex and convoluted, sucking people who are too lazy to think into paying for, following and believing “truth” that never was and can never be.

What is happening is that ALL pretexts (of why we must be enslaved) have been and are rapidly being refuted. It is again coming down to “might is right” which all of history refutes. The holy grail for tyrants has always been some accepted rationalization of why we must be forcefully organized in a hierarchy of masters and slaves, as opposed to a co-operative trade federation of autonomous individuals and groups. Evolution of pretexts:

Human sacrifice (of dissidents and maidens) to appease Gods of Nature

GOD says clergy are masters

Divine rights of kings
Freedom and “rule of law”, Renaissance values. Prosperity, justice
Should help the “unfortunate”, requires destroying personal responsibility values. Impoverishment
Cold war, fighting evil empires (Mil Ind Complex needs enemies to rationalize existence)
Socialism refuted, implodes civilizations by destroying rewards of and reason for productivity
War on Drugs (Recall Mil Ind Complex failed to add value as part of eating “peace dividend” post Soviet implosion)
War on Terrororism (Mil Ind Complex got it right, for now, until US economically/politically implodes, no matter, profit achieved for choosers)

All of these are really wars by organized groups against individuals and freedom. Those who profit by control experience a loss when freedom is exercised.

The problem of subversion of definitions and language is confusing most. All key terms (freedom, democracy…) have had their meanings altered, to suit the goals of those who “promise” them, incorrectly claiming a monopoly is necessary to do so. It is the underlying ideas and truths of civilization that have power and merit, not those who use them as pretexts.

So far as the problem of states goes: The proper balance between states and democracy was once maintained by the rule of law (below). In essence, states are legally mandated to treat ALL identically, in terms of rights and responsibility. This limits states actions to the area of common interest. Because the law has been subverted, we are ruled by “divide and conquer” by those playing “king of the hill”. In this sense, libertarians are arguing that “states must go” with an incorrect definition of states. The truth is that we need to be able to express and enforce “common interest” to have any civilization at all. Libertarians are correct in thinking that this can be done by private interests, so long as the underlying truths and requirements of civilization are represented.

On other matters, you need to understand from a more basic perspective why we are collectively insane, with little hope of extricating ourselves from current woes. Here’s a thread of my thoughts on this matter:

Disagree that the missing moral values are immaterial and thus immeasurable. If that were true, they (or lack therof) would not be able to cause consequences in the real world.

Good = In support of life and living (respect for your fellows, property…)
Evil = Live spelt backwards = Anti-Life = Not Good = Bad
These basic values are very real and can be measured. What cannot be measured cannot be protected and is most likely not real.

I also dispute current explanations for moral decay:

If you read the following carefully, it is apparent that the decay is an ENGINEERED phenomena, intended to profit some very EVIL interests. Mankind has been intellectually outclassed by some very manipulative interests. Personally, I believe Malthusian thought is the dominant underlying force. Too many eaters, manipulate them to kill each other and be gay to cut birthrate. Similarly, make men and women believe they have zero common interest by destroying equality and balance of power in families and divorce.

It appears to me that ALL people believe the problem is evil people doing evil things, with the implied solution that replacing the people (or giving them ethics lessons) will fix things. I totally disagree. The system (environment) is designed to limit people’s access to information outside of their environment, coercing them into making choices (believing and acting) just as the system designers intend. The chaos in Iraq is intentionally created to make soldiers believe that ALL, including non-combatants and children are a threat.

You can say the same about the artificially created environments and rules that politicians, judges, the population, etc are trapped in. Given what they believe is truth, they believe they are doing the right thing, or as close as possible, given reality, as they see it.

Until this basic fact is addressed, mankind remains on a path to extinction, enslaved by those who make a profit by sowing division and creating conflict. Lying is the greatest crime, since all others spring from falsity. It is no accident that the law says lying is not a crime. They thrive on conflict, and it all springs from lies.

Most are trapped on false intellectual paths, leading no-where. I can explain the facts, others cannot without treading the false path of us vs them, implying might is right, the end justifies the means, murder of innocents is OK, since they are inferior, ad infinitum.

It is possible to understand and fight this madness. Is it not possible that most people are too terrified to dispute the party line? At a minimum, all of their property is forfeit should they speak up or worse, actually do something.

To really “get” what I am saying, you must accept the fact that people are neither good nor evil. Only their choices (action leading to consequence) in the real world may be evaluated by any moral or legal standard. There is no such thing as a person who is a criminal, only a person who has chosen to perform a criminal act. Whether they choose to do so again is a product of their reality. Choice is a product of “reality” as perceived by the chooser. Control the environment (trap people in a system) and you control their choice. It is the system designers who are the real criminals. All others are puppets and pawns. It is that simple.

Here’s what is really going on, from first principles. The issues and arguments we are allowed to see are falsely framed lies:

Survival = Ability to Adapt to Environment = Intelligent choice
= Wise Management of Time, Energy and Environmental Factors
= Understanding the facts and environment
= Freedom
Survival is a goal. In the seeking of any goal, there are only three choices: force, fraud and honest, mutually agreed trade. Force and fraud creates defensive conflict from the victims (self-defense, survival reduced). Defending from the conflict of your victims costs time and energy = Life. Peace and mutually agreed trade, not preying on each other is the natural (un-coerced) state of man and civilization.

Main rationale of gov’t is to protect us from violence, which is anti-life and un-natural for man. Thus, gov’t must create conflict and violence to rationalize the “necessity” of its existence. As a lie, this will not stand the test of time (the unstoppable forces of natural law “action=>consequence” acting over time destroys lies)
