– Has your perception of Netocracy and Netocrat changed since the time your book had been published?
– If anything, the concept of netocracy has only strengthened and become even more important since we wrote the book.

– What is the social role of a Netocrat?
– The netocrat is a person who knows how to control the global communication networks to the advantage of his or her own interest. As these networks become bigger, smoother and ever more important, the power of the netocracy increases.
– How is this role manifested on different levels of the society – communities, corporations, countries, the mankind as a whole or a biological species?
– All networks, whether they are virtual networks on the internet, nation-states, corporations etc work according to the same rules nowadays. Netocrats are taking over all these systems. The money-hungry, narcissistic over-achiever who was idealized both by academia, politics and the worlds of business and finance under capitalism has now become a liability.
– What questions demand to be answered in connection to Netocracy and Netocrats actualization?
– Whatever questions interests people. I’m not the authority to tell people what is objectively important. There is no such thing as objective importance anymore, we are all living in a world of complete and utter relativity. Soderqvist and I NEVER tell people how to live their lives, we just tell people how things work. This is in itself a netocratic attitude, authority is dead in the interactive society.
– You are a leader of a netwrok company. What is the main peculiarity of your business in this respect?
– I’m just as much a servant as a leader. I resent being referred to as an authority. I’m just a creative and constantly curious networker. Everybody is their own leader these days. And that’s not going to change.
– As a leader of a network society that has no formal status, do you feel that you have any responsibilities related to it? Any advantages?
– No, not at all. If I’m good at networking, people will return to me for further networking. If I’m bad at it or disinterested, I will lose whatever position I have very quickly. Mobility is a central aspect of the world of interactivity.
– Are you personally a Netocrat? How is it displayed in your life style, behavior etc?
– Of course Soderqvist and I are netocrats. We practice what we preach.
– Do you like to feel yourself a Netocrat? Why did you choose this style and mode of life?
– If the alternative is to be a boring and unattractive consumtarian or a dated and lost capitalist, well then I definitely prefer to be a netocrat. I assume we all prefer to be winners rather than losers.
– Do you have any stakes/interests in Russia? In what area apet of music? Can it be stated that it the “Netocrat”’s interest?
– I have invested some of my money in Russia, I have lots of friends and an extensive network of connections in Russia, I like going to Moscow and St Petersburg on a regular basis, and both my music and our books are very popular in Russia. Russia and I seem to get along just fine!!! Netocrats do whatever they are interested in, they love making a career out of their hobbies, just like I have done with music and writing.
